FUTURE TITLE NEWS

NEW EDITION BLUE GUIDE NORTHERN ITALY

Blue Guide Northern Italy has been a key Blue Guide - and one of the best-selling - since publication of the first edition in 1924.  The 12th edition is now out of print, we are working on the 13th, due out in late 2014 or early 2015.  In the meanwhile we will be pre-releasing the chapters as e-books as soon as they are ready.  Here are the first three ebooks:

BLUE GUIDES REDESIGNED: NEW BLUE GUIDE VENICE

A new edition of Blue Guide Venice is now out.

Not only is the content fully updated, but the book is in the Blue Guides new design: a little more classic in appearance, we hope making it clearer that this is not just yet another guide book covering the same familiar ground, but something with the quality of research and depth of detail that the cultural, independent traveller needs to enjoy their visit, helping them make decisions and ensuring that they fully enjoy the sights they visit or the food they eat.

"often plagiarised by other guide writers, Blue Guides have always been a gold standard for accuracy and depth" Daily Telegraph

Read it and enjoy Venice!

TURKEY

While the enormous project of a new Blue Guide Turkey rumbles on we are pre-publishing the new chapters as e-books to make our latest research immediately available.  First out are two chapters on Turkey’s eastern expanses by archaeologist (and budding carpet weaver – see blog Tying the knot in Urfa») Paola Pugsley: “scholarly and intrepid”

The invaluable Blue Guide Turkey itself has long been out of print, but now available a print-on-demand reprint as a stop-gap before a new edition in a few years' time. Also out is the new edition of John Freely's classic Blue Guide Istanbul.

COMING SOON: BLUE GUIDE LONDON

Blue Guide London - the core and fist ever Blue Guide - has been out of print for some years.  The process of compiling an entirely re-written and updated edition - the 18th - is underway.

The scale of change in London over the decade and a half since the previous edition is enormous, leading the charge in documenting it all for the Blue Guides is art historian, auctioneer and Londoner Emily Barber, who is the book's main contributor.

STATEN ISLAND

In our monograph series - which reach the parts other guides don’t reach - Blue Guide New York author Carol Wright explores New York City’s largest, and possibly least known borough.

Carol is also the author of Blue Guide New York and a contributor to The Encyclopedia of New York City. She has also published on women's health and cookery and her work has appeared in The New York Times and a variety of periodicals. She was born on Staten Island.

Now out as a print and also e-book.

OTHER FUTURE TITLES

If you have repeated queries about out of print titles or other feedback or thoughts that could help us plan our future publication schedule do not hesitate to tell us.  As a small publisher we cannot carry out extensive market research, we rely on feedback from the trade and readers to determine where we will focus our resources in the years to come.
