Great to see the prestigious London bookshop John Sandoe Books recommending Tales from the Dual Monarchy for summer reading.
Tales from the Dual Monarchy is an anthology of elegant and sometimes melancholy short stories from Austria and Hungary. All are set in the golden age from the Compromise of 1867 to the end of the Great War, a period when the multi-ethnic, multi-lingual Austro-Hungarian empire was united under one emperor and king.
Many of the stories are translated into English for the first time. Tales from the Dual Monarchy is the latest title from the Blue Guides’ Blue Danube imprint – attractive small volumes of fiction, travel and history from Central Europe.

Category: Fiction – European literature in translation.
