Biography: Brian Lalor has pursued a multi-disciplinary career in art, archaeology and architecture and is the author of numerous books (including four on Dublin), some of which he has also illustrated. In 1993 he took over authorship of Blue Guide Ireland; he is also the author of Blue Guide Dublin (1st edition 2001). In 1999 he published the definitive architectural study, The Irish Round Tower and an illustrated edition of Oscar Wilde's The Ballad of Reading Gaol. As general Editor of The Encyclopaedia of Ireland (2003) he has received many academic awards, including the Association of American University Presses Award for a work of reference in the humanities. In 2005 he won the International Swift Society Award for Juvenalian Satire. He is currently Chairman of Graphic Studio Dublin, the leading fine art print publishers in Ireland.
